
Opening a Bank Account
In Turkey, you need to open a bank account to receive your salary, register for insurance, and transfer money, among other things. You can open an account at a branch with your ID, or you can do it online or via mobile banking with a video call.
Individual Bank Account
Anyone over the age of 18 can open a bank account. Banks offer two types of accounts:
● Demand deposit account: Used for deposits, withdrawals, EFT/wire transfers, and shopping transactions.
●Term account: Allows you to earn interest on your money for a certain period of time. You must have a demand deposit account before you can open a term account.
Things to Consider When Opening an Account
● Check the number of branches and ATMs the bank has.
● Check EFT and wire transfer fees.
● Confirm that there is no annual account maintenance fee.
● Review internet banking and campaigns.

● Phone number
In addition, the contracts and forms provided by the bank must be carefully read and signed.
Online Account Opening
It is possible to open an account through digital banks such as Enpara, Cepteteb, and e-Turuncu, or through a video call.
Account Opening Fee
There is no fee for opening an account in Turkey. Only commissions may apply for transfer transactions such as EFT/wire transfers.
Bank Card Delivery
After the account is opened, the bank card is sent to the specified address within an average of 7–14 days and activated for use with a password.
